TEASER POSTERS : Examples analysis....

These are some good examples of teaser posters i found online, they are good in the way that they don't give much away at all but all have a story behind them and keep the target audience wanting to know more about it.....

This poster is very difficult to work out what the film is going to be about apart from a man with a hangover backed up with the quote 'I stole a police car?!' giving the audience the idea that he had been very drunk, woken up with a hangover and cant remember anything he did the night before.
With this teaser poster all you see is the producers name at the top centre of the poster which for many people is not the first thing the public automatically look for. You also see the logo of the title 'DESPICABLE ME' in a bold red with an outline of a man cleverly put in the centre with little yellow creatures hanging, climbing and lifting the logo. Now this gives practically nothing away about the film which 'Teases' you by not giving you a story line or plot, so you just have to wait and see. This poster does give a website at the bottom though which if you are that interested in what the film is all about, this may answer some of those questions.

This is a good example teaser poster for Toy Story 3.
This is a good teaser poster because the 3 is very recognisable from the bold blue and yellow font also with the DISNEY PIXAR icon above it, most people would instantly relate that to Disney's Toy Story but it doesn't give anything else away about the film.
Its a simple black background with the quote 'No toy gets left behind' giving a clue into the plot of the film, the iconic styled 3 and the date the movie is released.

Researching this has given me a better idea as to how my teaser poster has to look and the key points i should follow when planning out my poster. I have learnt that all teaser posters are extremely simplistic and have to leave a lot to the imagination, similarly to the teaser trailer. The key features you find on teaser posters is the date or even month of release usually found at the bottom, out of the way. Another feature is that theres a main image which is either recognisable from previous film (for example the toy story three poster) or just a simple image to tell just a little bit of the story.
